about the artist
Barbara Breyer is a self-taught printmaker who delights in the element of surprise implicit in her creative process. Breyer began her printmaking career in Springfield, Massachusetts over thirty years ago. She joined the North Shore Art League in 1989 following a move to Chicago, where she still lives and works. Breyer’s artistic concerns focus on composition and reductive design, as well as sometimes humorous political commentary.
